Every year it gets brighter and better.
The 63rd Outing trip to Troon was again a most enjoyable day for the special needs children. The weather stayed with us and the people of Troon gave us their usual overwhelming welcome turning out in their thousands to cheer us into town.
A host of celebs and our committee members saw the convoy, with around 400 youngsters on board leave from Kelvin Way, piped out by The Strathclyde Police Pipe Band.
160 cabs made the journey to the Ayrshire coast with the children and their carers and parents.
Lot's of thanks to the drivers who give up their time and earnings to transport and entertain the children. They put hours of time and effort into dressing up the cabs and themselves for the occasion.
Stephen Lalley and David Hodgson's Wimbledon Taxi won the prize for the best decorated Taxi. The Cuddly Cab was second and the Committee cab third, well done lads!!!
An award was presented to Peter McMahon (pictured below), who has been at every Outing Trip for the last 40 Years, well done Peter.
Puss'n Boots won the best Fancy Dress comp, Fred Flintstone was second and tennis player Bjorn Borg came third.
Spiderman, Gandalph the Wizard, Indiana Jones, Professor Dumbledore, Snow White, Cruella De Ville were all there with a host of other characters.
The Clyde 1 Roadshow provided the entertainment on the Prom and our thanks go to George Bowie and his crew (pic below) for a great time. See you next year George.
Sincere thanks to everyone who contributes to a great day out;
Our Sponsors, The Stathclyde Police, the people of Glasgow and Troon and of course THE BEST TAXI DRIVERS IN THE WORLD (City of Glasgow Hackney Drivers).
The Outing Fund Committee.
